Errantly, some suggest to students, "wait 'til you get to the real world." I stand with Professor Neem - what we do at the university IS the real world. The "grappling" learned in the academy will stand students in good stead for their futures. Wrestling with ideas, slowing down for reflection, sweating over clear communication, disciplining oneself in study, and being willing to hear different points of view will be the personal "makeup" a student needs to be prepared for whatever they encounter in the world.
